Happy 15th Anniversary!

It seems like fifteen years must be some sort of milestone.

(I said MILESTONE. One L, two E's.)

Happy Anniversary to us!

Pee-Pee In The Potty

For all of you out there without kids, move along to the next blog.

Toddler Boy finally did it! He wakes up with a dry diaper fairly often but he has never- NEVER - used the potty. We did the whole Pee-Pee Party a while back and it was a bust. He sat on the potty and didn't make anything, then got up and wet his pants. Four times.

This morning he had been up for almost two hours when I started getting him dressed for pre-school. His pull-up was dry. I asked him to use the "little potty". He said no, "I use my diaper to make pee-pee".

I said "I'll give you a Snickers" if you use the potty. BINGO! One potty chair full of yellow piss!

You have to find their currency. Boy's is candy.

Passive/Aggressive- Who? Me?

I was getting frustrated by the giant weeds (thorny ferns of some sort) and leaf litter up against the fence of our neighbor across the alley from our garage. His garage is accessed from the street so the only time he even sees the alley is to take out the trash, so I don't really blame him for not keeping it spotless. His fence was falling apart a few years ago and he fixed it by nailing up some boards I was throwing away.

Today I cut the weeds back, raked up the leaf litter and trash, then swept the dirt up. I dumped it all in his trash bin though, filling it halfway up.

Does that show me to be passive/aggressive? Or just a nice neighbor? Or an asshole?

I can't stay away!

I tried to create a different blog. Just couldn't seem to think of anything to post.

Time To Try Something Different.

Our Retrouvaille weekend is now past. It was a lot of work, very emotional, and I'm glad there are six follow up sessions because if anything we're farther apart now than we were on Friday.

We do now have some tools to use for communicating our feelings with each other. Retrouvaille calls it "dialog" and they separate this dialog about feelings from discussion about issues. This is good and dialog with Kitti is where I'm going to be putting my effort, not blogging my feelings with the world.

One thing I know is that Kitti has been very, very hurt by things said on our joint blog, both by me and by commentors. She asked me to take it down. I didn't want it to just disappear without any sort of farewell so I left a header up. Another reason for not completely deleting the blog is that I have seen many deleted blog addresses being used by spammer type sites so I didn't want it to be available.

She also asked me to delete this blog and my blogger identity. I'm having trouble accepting that because it's basically asking me to sever my ties with many friends. I want to consider and discuss this a bit with her first.

I love (some of) you guys.

What does it all mean?; Blogging back to silence?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne?

Chorus
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine
But we've wander'd mony a weary foot
Sin' auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl't in the burn
Frae morning sun till dine
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint stoup
And surely I'll be mine
And we'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.

What about Auld Lang Syne?

Nothing to say that won't get the "You shouldn't say those things to the whole world" sort of comments going.
